Fortuity Cellars

Spring is here. Bring on the Rhône wines. (SPRING 2024)

We write this to you after our Spring Opening Weekend. It was so fun seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. Spring has certainly sprung in the Yakima Valley, with fresh asparagus, cherry and apple blossoms and signs of bud break in the vineyards.

Our Spring Club Release features four Rhône wines: 2023 Viognier, 2023 Rosé of Cinsault, 2022 Grenache and 2021 Syrah Cuvée. We are thrilled to have for the first time “SustainableWA” on our labels (Vio and Rosé). We included a small gift with more info about the program. We can’t wait to see it “grow,” as this is poised to set Washington wines apart from the rest of the world.

What’s next for Fortuity? We have a new white wine (Béton) releasing at the Fête en Blanc party in June. This is our first all-concrete fermented and aged white wine, and it’s pretty exceptional. As we continue to build our Rhône white wine program, we are utilizing some cool winemaking techniques to ensure a smooth, creamy finish that accentuate the aromatics.

For those able to visit the Yakima Valley, we carefully curated a few events this year, including Run for the Rosé and an intimate dinner at Red Willow Vineyard.

We will also pop up in the Seattle area soon (new Respite wine bar!). As always, visit us at our Ellensburg Wine+Art tasting room.

As we head into our 8th vintage this fall, know that our focus and confidence continues to be on creating the highest quality wines ever. We are so very grateful for your continued support.

Best, Emily & Lee Fergestrom, Fortuity owners & winemakers
